We are more than a Sunday Church.
We are committed to helping people grow in their faith, build a strong foundation for their family, and make a difference in their communities. We believe that church should be more than just a weekend experience, it should be about real life and community.
We operate a cafe in the Village of Cottingham which hosts community groups and runs both faith based and community events.
We offer Premarital Counselling, conduct weddings as a registered building and take funeral and memorial services.
At Christ Church we believe that God has given all of us gifts and talents to use to serve the body of Christ and to tell the world the gospel story. We have several ministry teams that give you space to use those gifts and talents in a team setting. If you would like to have more information or be put in contact with a ministry team leader just talk to one of us on a Sunday.

Christ Church Programs
Men's Ministry Guys getting together being...guys. Often involves food! Women's Ministry Women getting together being...women. Often involves food! Worship Team During our worship gatherings, this team is responsible for leading the church in song and responding to the Lord in joy, humility, and gratefulness for the grace given through the Gospel. You need to be a regular attender of Christ Church and be involved in a Connect Group to serve on this team. Tech Team This team’s role at our Sunday gatherings is to ensure that sound and computer elements are done properly as they help lead in worship during our gatherings. A basic knowledge of sound and computers is helpful but not required if you are willing to learn. You need to be a regular attender of Christ Church and be involved in a Connect Group to serve on this team. Greeting/Car park/Hosting/Hospitality Team This team is vital in ensuring that our gathering is warm and inviting and that everything is in its place. This includes making coffee, preparing communion, or organising food after the service. After ward, they make sure that everything that was set out for the gathering gets put away and all is tidy. You can be on our greeting team, hosting team or car park team meeting with people who are interested in more information about Christ Church. Anyone can serve on this team. Monthly Coffee Morning At our church once a month. Check the main website page for details and times. |
Friends of Christ Church Cottingham
Missions Team A team with an outlook locally and globally. Keeping us updated on all things mission. Cafe Team Reaching our community & village with great coffee, tasty quality food and community events. Food Bank Every weekend both at church and the cafe weekly we take food collections for Cottingham Food Bank. Manna Meals When people go through surgeries, illnesses, new births or family losses, a nice home cooked meal can be one of the best ways we can show the support and encouragement of our church family both to those calling Christ Church home or our community. Being a Manna Meal volunteer simply means that you will receive emails whenever their is a person or family in need of meals for a short period of time. You will have the option to select an evening to cook and/or deliver a meal to them. If your schedule at that time doesn't allow you to help, that's alright, just pass on the request and help out next time. To request a meal please call us on 07515122491. The Alabaster Jar We had an idea. Based on Mark 14 and the woman with the alabaster jar. What if we put a big alabaster jar in church and if you wanted to, you could put spare change into it. At the end of the year or whenever its full...we smash it open and give all the money away to an organisation that can use it to be a blessing to people? Its almost too simple. But its where our heart is. Its a form of worship. You cant miss it...its kind of big. |

Children, Youth and Family Ministry
We are building an innovative families ministry which, in partnership with parents, provides a secure, inclusive environment. Our desire is to raise a generation of champions, who are secure in who they are in Christ, living a Bible-based life, and confidently following the call God has placed on their life. We aim to provide a place for connection- with God and one another, a place full of life and love, a place where together we can experience the love and heart of God. Christ Church is a place for our children & youth to learn, grow, and be equipped to impact their worlds, developing leadership skills for life. Each week, children & youth are engaged in a program designed to encourage their walk with Christ, in which they can encounter God and be equipped to thrive, flourish and live to their full potential.
Connect Groups

but also within our Connect Groups. Connect Groups are an exciting and essential part of life at Christ Church.
