Team Work
There are a number of people involved and many ways to get involved with the leading and day-to-day running of Christ Church. Pastor Scott and his wife Giovanna work alongside a hard working and dedicated leadership team. There are also a number of other paid and volunteer, full or part-time staff that keep Christ Church functioning smoothly.
How we organise ourselves as a church
Our structure is very simple and can be seen in 3 sections:
1.MANAGING TRUSTEES. (Elected) Christ Church managing trustees are responsible for the oversight of Christ Church Cottingham. Managing Trustees are elected according to our constitution and meet together at least 4 times a year to look over budgets & finances, ministry proposals, fundraising proposals, membership applications, ministry department health, governing policies and process and to pray together for Christ Church Cottingham.
2.MINISTRY TEAM. (Appointed Ministry Leaders) Christ Church management team is made up of ministry team leaders where these leaders manage a budget for a certain dept and a team of regular volunteers. These ministries include but is not limited to children, youth & families, music and worship, pastoral care, Connect groups, little stars, women's and men's ministries, outreach and missions. This team can also include members with specific skills and gifts such as but not limited to legal, accounting, employment law, cafe management and trustees, buildings and land care. We extend an invitation to those who have previously served as Managing Trustees at Christ Church to bring their wisdom to this team. We see Managing Trustees and Ministry Team together as an informal "Christ Church Leadership Team". Managing Trustees provide the oversight for our ministry team and together they meet to update, pray, plan, encourage while providing accountability to the ministries.
3.Our CHARITY Status. We are an independent Evangelical Church. We have been a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) since 16th August 2017.
Our charity number is 1174283. We are members of The Evangelical Alliance.
